2S Tidbits

Dear 2S Families,

I hope you all are having a great start to the week. It is hard to believe that the month of January is just about over. With this in mind, Valentine's Day is not too far away.  Coming home tomorrow will be a class list of names, as 2S will be exchanging Valentine's Day cards on February 14th. We will not be having a Valentine's Day party, but instead exchanging cards. Students are welcome to bring in store bought valentine's or make them at home. Valentine's Day cards with candy are okay as long as it does not contain any tree nuts or made in a facility that has tree nuts in them. Please contact me if you should have any questions.

Father/Daughter Dance:

The SMS Father Daughter Dance will be taking place on February 10th. You can sign up for tickets by February 3rd or buy them the night of the 10th. The event is from 6:30-8:00 pm. Below is more info about the dance.

FATHER-DAUGHTER DANCE - You won’t want to miss this Hollywood themed party at SMS! VIP tickets are $5 per person or $20 max per family. Dear 2S Families,

I hope you all had a great weekend. 2S students are working hard in the classroom and are enjoying the start of our States of Matter unit. We have also spent some time talking about Dr, Martin Luther King Jr. and his efforts that have made the world a better place. Below you will find a few tidbits of upcoming events for SMS. Feb. 3rd-Progress Reports Sent Home

Mother/Son Minute to Win It Game Night & Ice Cream Social www.signupgenius.com On Friday, January 20th, the SMS PTO and the 4th Grade will be hosting the Mother/Son Minute to Win It Game Night & Ice Cream social. Your help is needed to make this a success and this event offers Dads & older siblings a chance to give back! Setup begins at 5:45pm and should last about 30 minutes. The ice cream social will start at 6:30pm in the cafeteria but the games will begin at 6:45pm in the gym. Games are setup in stations and and we request staffing at each game to be 1 adult OR 1-2 older siblings/SMS alumni. Both the ice cream social and games will end at 8:00pm. Breakdown begins at 8:00pm and lasts about 30 minutes or less. Thank you for volunteering!
